Frequently Asked Questions

  • Good Chat is an initiative designed to facilitate open conversations around men’s mental health through bi-monthly events featuring prominent speakers from various walks of life. The charity was inspired by the personal experience of losing a close friend to suicide.

  • Everyone is welcome. The target demographic is men in their twenties and thirties who are facing challenges and life pressures and feel a lack of spaces in which to have real conversations and find community. If an event is for men only, it will be noted in the description.

  • We hold events in venues such as fitness gyms, wellness spaces, third places (such as The Hero), and workplaces, in order to meet men where they are most comfortable and familiar.

  • All Good Chat events are free so no one has to miss out on a great evening because of a price barrier. Event info, times, and registration links can be found on the “events” section of our website as well as on our Instagram page. If you’re having trouble signing up, give us a shout!

  • We take safety and privacy very seriously. While some content is captured while the speakers are talking, we try to keep the event largely social media free and create a space where everyone feels comfortable to share without judgment.

  • We don’t want to sound cheesy - but we hope you feel connected to a new community and inspired by a real talk by real people about common experiences. The goal: to feel less alone and more belonging.

  • Every Good Chat is unique and the topic is largely guided by the speaker on the evening. We can cover everything from resilience, why failure isn’t such a bad thing, love and grief, performance and pressure, and the mind-body connection in mental health.

  • Absolutely. There’s no pressure to share. What really matters is showing up.

  • No, most of our events welcome every gender and sex. However, we do have some events that cater to just guys. We’ll let you know in the event description.

  • The mission is to create a community where men feel supported, encouraged to talk openly, and empowered with practical tools for mental well-being.

  • We are in the first six months and are focusing on awareness, building partnerships, and offering high-quality, engaging events that encourage men to start talking about their mental health before it becomes too overwhelming.

  • Through strategic outreach, fundraising, and measurable impact, Good Chat will establish itself as a key player in the mental health space, with the ultimate goal of saving lives through good chat.

  • Are you a speaker or do you know somebody who would be an inspiring edition?
